BRIEF, and when it is the better place to start.
Some organisations arrive knowing exactly what they need: a re-tender run, a contract register rebuilt, a fractional commercial director. Many do not, and should not have to.
What BRIEF is
BRIEF is a separate service operated by Nexus Connect Limited. It starts from the problem rather than from a service menu: you describe what is happening, and BRIEF turns that into a clear requirement and puts the right expertise around it.
It exists because the hardest part of buying professional help is often the diagnosis. Knowing that costs are creeping, a programme has slipped twice or nobody can find the contract is not the same as knowing whether that is a sourcing job, a contract management job, a programme recovery job or an operating model problem.
How the two relate
Nexus Connect is the consultancy: the commercial, procurement and transformation capability, and the accountability for delivering it. BRIEF is a different front door to that capability, and to others where a problem needs something we do not do.
They are run by the same company and the same person. Neither is a reseller of the other, and using one does not commit you to the other.
A rough test.
Come to Nexus Connect if

Start with BRIEF if
- You can describe the symptom but not the discipline it belongs to.
- You are not sure whether you need a consultant, an interim or nothing at all.
- Two consultancies have already given you two different answers about what the problem is.
- The problem may turn out not to be commercial at all.
